Programs

We offer nature-based alternatives to traditional preschool or elementary school, and weekly parent & child programs for toddlers. Family events and courses for teachers are also coming soon!

Wild Haven Forest Kindergarten

(Starting Sept. 2017!)

Far more engaging and enriching than typical indoor preschool, Wild Haven keeps learning active, joyful and fun. 100% of our learning takes places outdoors!

Taking inspiration from European forest kindergartens, weekly classes encourage children to explore nature, make friends and engage in active play. Essential foundation skills are nurtured through sensorial experiences, laying the bedrock for future learning.

The language-rich natural environment abounds with opportunities for storytelling, artistic expression, math ideas, engineering and construction with loose parts, science concepts, and so much more! Use of high and low technology is integral to our excursions, too. (EX. iPads, digital cameras, videos, email, blog; wheels, pulleys, levers, magnifiers, binoculars).

Our emergent curriculum and project-based approaches encourage creative problem-solving and inquiry, common in child-directed Reggio Emilia programs. Children make magical outdoor discoveries in every season, rain or shine. Wild Haven encourages family participation and offers community events throughout the year. We would love to grow and learn with your precious tot!

Parent & Child Program

Offered on Fridays, children ages 18 months to 3 years old explore nature with a loving caregiver. This is a wonderful way to meet like-minded parents while introducing your tot to plants and animals in many habitats. Songs and hands-on activities are always part of our learning.
