Wild Haven nature programs heading your way!

Wild Haven is only just beginning...

We are thrilled to announce this exciting pursuit...nature-based programs for children ages 3-6 years old in the heart of Baltimore City! Our children deserve a better way to learn, one that includes daily unstructured exploration in nature and outdoor play. Young children grow best in a caring, inspiring atmosphere that nurtures compassion, empathy and respect. Wild Haven will kindle deep, meaningful learning for young children, families and teachers.

Programs Coming Fall 2017

Wild Haven
is a 100% outdoors forest immersion program. Weekly (drop-off) classes are for children ages 3-6 years old. Children may attend on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Program runs Sept. 12, 2017 - May 16, 2018; enrollment is for full school year. Enrolled children must be three years old by Sept. 1st of the enrollment year and toilet-trained.

This is an incredible learning opportunity. Our approach to nature pedagogy is rooted in current research and best practices. Too often school programs say they embrace research but don't practice what they know is best for young children. Thankfully our nature preschool is a place for children to explore nature, work together, investigate, construct, problem-solve and play. Children form a foundation of developmentally appropriate skills, but they do so with wonder and curiosity.

Maximum number of children is 12 per class, alongside two teaching guides. Parent volunteers also rotate to support learning. Complete details will be provided in our Parent/Guardian Guidebook. Spaces are extremely limited - reserve a space now.

Parent & Child Program is offered for children ages 18 months to 3 years old and their caregiver. Offered on Fridays from 9:30-11 a.m., this 8-week series is a gentle seasonal introduction to nature with your little one. Songs, art experiences and nature play abound! One session is offered every season, year-round. Class meets outdoors, so dress for the weather and bring a water bottle.

We are in the early stages of securing and preparing Wild Haven's park locations. Please contact the director, Monica, with questions or to register. We can't wait to share our love of nature with you and your family!
